About Internet Examiner Toolkit (IXTK)
IXTK is the first complete, multilingual, multi-faceted forensic suite of tools that is designed specifically to discover, examine, analyze and report internet-based evidence acquired from computers, hard drives, live memory, and mobile devices.
IXTK also makes it possible to conduct, track and capture "live" internet investigations in real-time and integrate this information with your deadbox analysis data.
What can you expect in this release?
- Searching just got a whole lot easier! Completely redesigned, streamlined and multi-threaded artifact searching: Disk Sectors, Free Space, Logical Files and Network Drives. Less confusion, faster results!
- A new MOBILE search option will be added to the above search window that will expedite analysis of mobile devices. This feature is currently in development.
- Improved resources utilization when searching for artifacts. Shorter wait times.
- Added a "Copy User" account feature to the File menu. Quickly copies out key artifacts from Windows or MAC user accounts, for fast analysis.
- Each search now only utilizes a single thread. Multiple searches can be run asynchronously, in the background, making it possible to now work away in the main window at the same time.
- Fixed a bug that would prevent mounted disk image files from properly reporting any installed partitions.
- Fixed a timestamp issue for Internet Explorer v10/11 WebCacheV01 artifacts.
- Artifacts recently added: Skype, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Kik Messenger and Instagram (for iPhone and Android) in deveopment now and will be released soon.
- Now it is possible to locate Microsoft Office business documents from logical file systems and unallocated space. This feature comes included with your SMS at no additional cost.
- New graphics header for reports features new IXTK logo.
- Searches are now saved as individual filters under My Artifact Searches for easy review.
- Global processes like Create Dictionary are also now asynchronous allowing you to continue working away while the dictionary is being constructed.
- Improved support for Internet Explorer v10 and v11 WebCacheV01.dat files. A special whitepaper on decoding WebCacheV01.dat artifacts is currently being written. The ability to rebuild IEv11 web pages is scheduled for the next update.
- Implemented preliminary support for the new Video Image Classification Standard (VICS) being adopted internationally.
IMPORTANT: The following artifacts are currently being researched and support should be coming soon: Kik Messenger, Instagram, Dropbox, WhatsApp and Gigatribe.
